SoHacks, Texas’ Largest High School Hackathon, Set for August 4th and 5th at Trinity University
SAN ANTONIO (July 26, 2017) – SoHacks will host its fourth annual School’s Out High School Hackathon on Friday, August 4, and Saturday, August 5, at Trinity University. The School’s Out Hackathon is a 24-hour coding event engineered to help high school students learn how to code. Students can make an app, website, or a piece of hardware with the help of experienced mentors, structured classes, and like-minded peers.
The event is free, and spots are still available. Students are encouraged to sign up at www.sohacks.com. Registration will close the day before the event, August 3. SoHacks will be hosted at Trinity University’s Center of Science and Innovation Building
The schedule is as follows:
Friday, August 4 –
- 11:00 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Registration
- 2 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.: Opening ceremony
- 3 p.m.: Hacking Begins
- 4 p.m. – 11 p.m.: Workshops [Skill level of workshops ranges from beginner to advanced]
- 10 p.m. – 1 a.m.: Midnight snacks
Saturday, August 5 –
- 12 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Hacking continues
- 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Breakfast
- 12:00 p.m. – 1 p.m.: Lunch
- 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.: Hacks/Judging
- 4 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Closing ceremonies
The School’s Out Hackathon is an annual hackathon in San Antonio designed to help students take their first steps into the world of computer science and programming. Co-founded by a group of high school students, it was the first high school hackathon – and is the largest – in Texas.
