San Antonio’s Startup Grind to Host Founder of National Movement, Derek Andersen, on April 10
On Monday, April 10, at 6:00 p.m., San Antonio’s chapter of Startup Grind will host the man who started the national movement and community, Derek Andersen, at the Geekdom Event Centre. Andersen began the now-400,000 person entrepreneurial community with 200 chapters in 85 countries run by 1,000 volunteers in 2012.
Next Monday, he will share about the journey of growth for Startup Grind, the local communities who have helped to expand, and how San Antonio can continue to take advantage of its growing tech and entrepreneurial scene.
The event will begin at 6:00 p.m., with the fireside chat with Derek Andersen starting at 7 p.m. The fireside chat will be led by Matthew Espinoza, the local San Antonio chapter director of Startup Grind.
After running Startup Grind as a side project for two years, Andersen turned his full attention to scaling it from 3 chapters to 200 chapters today. He demonstrates the entrepreneurial spirit in its full capacity and will inspire entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners at Geekdom next week – as our city continues to catapult its recognition and opportunity in the tech scene.
Geekdom will serve as the host for this special session of Startup Grind and is the host for the recurring event, normally showcasing local entrepreneurs, which takes place monthly at the Geekdom Event Centre. The event is open to the public, and admission is just $7. To learn more, visit www.startupgrind/sanantonio.
