CommonWealth Coffee House to Celebrate Grand Opening at Weston Centre



WHAT:    There’s a latte to be excited about. Something BIG is brewing at Weston Centre! CommonWealth Coffee House will celebrate the grand opening of its 6th San Antonio location on Friday, February 9.

Guests will enjoy free samples of mini french pastries and drip coffee. Food and specialty beverages will be available for purchase.

Michele Thomas is an Event planner and Business Brand Coach who

and half as an Elementary Teacher and Education Coordinator for
Public school in The United states and United Arab Emirates, Michele
knows what truly drives conversions, business growth, and branding
—and it’s not mastering the marketing $avor of the week. It’s how
well you connect with the heart-beating people you’re trying to help
and communicate
After 15 years as an educator, Michele decided to follow her dreams
and start her own event planning company B Michele Events. She
launched the company while still teaching in Abu Dhabi, United Arab
Emirates in 2013 with the help of a few friends. She has gained
valuable expertise working with agencies, corporate and
entrepreneurs in the UAE planning and hosting signature events as
the co-founder of MBT Promotions.

After launching B Michele Events, Michele moved to San Antonio,
Texas where she boldly made her presence known and began
branding her company with the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Show. Since
then she has planned, marketed and produced over 20 shows in San
Antonio and around the country in the past 4 years.

Michele now uses her knowledge of creative marketing, promotions,
fundraising strategies, and building professional relationships with
the media, sponsors and key partners to help entrepreneurs grow and
brand their businesses as the CEO of B Michele Professional Services.

Michele has landed coverage in print and broadcast outlets in San
Antonio including Black Focus Magazine, Tha1 Radio,
and Engaged. In addition to her extensive event planning and
marketing experience, Michele also serves as a mentor to new

Episode 21 | Live Oak Mayor Mary M. Dennis




Today’s guest is Live Oak Mayor Mary M. Dennis!


Mary M. Dennis was born in Newton, Mississippi. Mary’s father served in the United States Army and the family traveled throughout Europe and the United States. The family moved to San Antonio, Texas when Mary was 15. Mary, also known as “Little Mary” is the daughter of Mary Wyatt, the former owner of “Flowers by Mary”.

She is a Sam Houston High School graduate, a paraprofessional with the San Antonio Independent School District and completed a Mortuary Science Associate Degree at San Antonio College. Mary is passionate about the education and safety of our children. Mary is also a licensed Funeral Director having worked for both Sutton & Sutton Mortuary and Lewis Funeral Home. She helps wonderful people make difficult decisions and provide assistance during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Mary has found both of these professions to be very rewarding.

Mary has received numerous awards, but her most noteworthy accomplishment is being chosen to serve as Mayor for the City of Live Oak in the June 12, 2010 run-off election. She is the First African American to serve the City of Live Oak in this capacity. Prior to her Mayoral election, she ran twice for council seats in Live Oak and was defeated each time by a few votes. As destiny would have it, Mary was given the opportunity to complete the council place terms both times as the elected council person resigned. Mary Dennis says “It is about not giving up and being determined. This is something she learned from her parents – to never ever give up. Whatever your dream is – go for it!” Currently Mayor Dennis is serving her second term as Mayor of Live Oak, Mary desires to bring the city closer together across varied backgrounds. Mary believes that government is about helping people, being a good steward of tax dollars and making City government more efficient.

Her additional civic activities includes service as the Vice President to the Northeast Partnership, member of Randolph Metro Chamber, City of Live Oak Economic Development Corporation, City of Live Oak Planning and Zoning Commission, Bowden Charter of Business and Professional Women, San Antonio Commission of Literacy and Mary is a charter member of National Council of Negro Women – Ruth Jones McClendon Chapter. Ms. Dennis also served as Commissioner on the Mayor’s Commission for the Status of Women, San Antonio Livestock and Rodeo Public Affairs Committee, the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission and President of Pearls (Professional Business Women). She is a member of Livingway Christian Church.

Mary epitomizes the power of persistence as well as the incomparable power of an abiding faith in God.

In 2008-09, All Sports administered the strength and conditioning program for the Division II college Senior Cactus Bowl All Star game in Kingsville. Today All Sports Speed and Conditioning continues to train athletes to elevate their athletic performance to the next level in all sports.
