CarCalmly Set to Launch, Mobile App to Remove Burdens that Come with Car Maintenance
CarCalmly, a Geekdom company member, has created a new mobile app that will ease the burden of vehicle maintenance. The app will launch in its beta program in San Antonio on August 14*, when it will be available for download from the Apple Store. A mobile version of the app for the Android platform will be available from the Google Play Store on August 28. The app provides reminders on vehicle maintenance, allows users to find reputable service providers, and connects users to providers to schedule maintenance appointments.
The CarCalmly app provides the following for its users:
- A tracker and reminder of vehicle maintenance needs that will help users keep track of oil changes, tire rotations, and brake service. The app delivers reminders right to the user’s smartphone.
- A powerful, easy-to-use search feature that makes finding a vehicle service provider simple and seamless. Users can mark a service provider as his or her favorite, making them easier to find in CarCalmly.
- An appointment scheduler that will enable vehicle owners to schedule service appointments with providers in their area and will send vehicle owners reminders of their appointment, so they don’t forget.
“The average American driver logs more than 13,476 miles every year, with most of that mileage spent on vital activities like getting to and from work,” said Dave Geada, CEO and Founder of CarCalmly. “With so much riding on our vehicles, it’s surprising to find that 35% of vehicle owners skip recommended vehicle maintenance, leading to millions of roadside breakdowns each year that could have been easily prevented. CarCalmly was designed to help solve this problem, by making it easy to remember when you need to get your vehicle serviced and making it super easy to schedule that service with a reputable provider in your area right from your smartphone.”
The founders of the company collaborated and initiated the company after meeting at Startup Weekend that was held at Geekdom earlier this year. Along with the challenges faced by vehicle owners, the CarCalmly team also recognized the marketing challenges faced by local service providers who were struggling to reach a new generation of vehicle owners on mobile platforms.
“When the Internet starting taking off, we had to learn how to advertise on search engines like Google and social media sites like Facebook. Now we’re having to learn how to reach a whole new generation of drivers who spend most of their time on mobile phones,” said Chad Miller, owner of Chad Miller Auto Care on De Zavala Road in San Antonio. CarCalmly helps us reach these customers more effectively and affordably than ever before. And they help us create a better experience by making it so convenient for new and existing customers to schedule a maintenance service with us.”
CarCalmly’s beta launch in San Antonio will include more than 25 local services providers like Chad Miller Auto Care.
